Gaia GPS is a complex app, which has both a mobile and a web version. In this article we will cover just a small but very useful functionality of it's web app - route planning.
Route planning is available on the web app.
The main features of route planning in Gaia GPS:
Can connect two points using existing OSM trails
Add a point to the route even if it is not on an OSM trail (for example when trying to get to a peak)
Shows the elevation profile of the planned route, with the total ascent, descent, highest and lowest points, for example:
Can export saved route to GPX, KML and GeoJSON formats
